Hello, everyone! I’m Don Burzynski, and welcome to this special Father’s Day blog post. Today, we celebrate fathers, but more importantly, we delve into a deeper understanding of the perfect fatherly love revealed through Jesus Christ. Our journey today will help us see how Jesus Christ restored the true essence of Fatherhood, giving us an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father. Let’s dive in!
Jesus said, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him” (John 14:7). This profound statement reveals a fundamental truth: how we see God matters more than anything else in our lives. Our experiences, memories, and wounds from past relationships often distort our view of our Heavenly Father. Many of us carry twisted perceptions shaped by negative memories of our earthly fathers or other male authorities. But God is infinitely better than any earthly father.
Jesus came to reveal the true nature of our Heavenly Father. He is the perfect image of God. In John 14:7, Jesus tells His disciples, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” To see Jesus is to see the Father. He fully embodies the Father’s essence, showing us how God would be if He were a man.
Jesus’ life and teachings reveal that:
- To know Him is to know the Father.
- He is the exact representation of God’s being (Hebrews 1:3).
- Everything Jesus said and did was a direct reflection of the Father.
Through His life, Jesus demonstrated perfect manhood and the ultimate Father-Son relationship. He was always God, even in His humanity. This perfect relationship showcases the true intention of fatherhood.
In John 12:44, Jesus declared, “He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me.” Believing in Jesus is believing in the Father. Jesus’ words, actions, and very essence reflect the Father’s character. Jesus said, “he who sees me, sees him who sent me” (John 12:45). This shows the perfect unity and representation of the Father in the Son.
Now, let’s bring this closer to home. Many of us have experienced the pain of imperfect fatherhood. Whether our earthly fathers were absent, distant, or flawed, these experiences can deeply affect our perception of God. But Jesus came to restore us to our true humanity and relationship with the Father. Through Him, we can experience the love, protection, and guidance of our Heavenly Father.
In conclusion, the measure of Christ’s redemptive work in us is seen in how closely our lives reflect His. As Jesus perfectly manifested the Father’s deity, so are we called to manifest Christ’s life in us. Our relationship with Jesus allows us to live out the Father’s will, doing His work in His way.
This Father’s Day, let’s remember that no matter our earthly experiences, we have a perfect Father in Heaven. He is always present, always loving, and always wanting the best for us.
As you celebrate Father’s Day, take a moment to reflect on your relationship with your Heavenly Father. If you’ve been hurt or disappointed by your earthly father, seek healing in the arms of your perfect Heavenly Father. Embrace the love and identity He offers you through Jesus Christ.
